Understanding Place Value
Units (Ones):
The rightmost digit in a number. It tells us how many single items are there.
Example: In the number 326, the 6 is in the units place.
Tens:
The second digit from the right. It tells us how many groups of 10 are in the number.
Example: In 326, the 2 is in the tens place, representing 20.
Hundreds:
The third digit from the right. It tells us how many groups of 100 are in the number.
Example: In 326, the 3 is in the hundreds place, representing 300.
